Emily May Art

Thank you so much for being here! I’m Emily a wife, mom to three beautiful children and an artist. I’ve been painting since I was a little girl, but have always either kept my artwork for myself or gifted it to my family and friends. I took a break from painting when I became a mom, because life was suddenly so busy. As my children have grown out of the baby phase and I find myself having more time for me, I picked up my brush and paints again. I never intended for my art to be anything other than a hobby. But my three children were so excited about my work. They are my biggest cheerleaders! They kept telling me things like “mommy your art should be in a gallery”, and “wow mommy you should sell your art, it’s so beautiful”. And it got me thinking. We tell our children “you can be anything”, “follow your passion!” And “ never give up on your dreams”. But as adults do we really do these things? We give up things we love because time is limited, we fear putting ourselves out there for fear of rejection. I want to not just tell my children to follow their dream, but to show them what that looks like. And so this business was born. A mom who loves to paint. And is putting herself, and her artwork, out there to show my children: We can do hard things.
